Why do I volunteer?

Emilee Cocuzzo

I am incredibly grateful for my time at ¶¥¼¶¹ú²úÊÓƵ, so I made it a priority to continue to give back to the ¶¥¼¶¹ú²úÊÓƵ community. One of my greatest passions is mentoring students. Seeing my mentees grow and succeed has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences!

Carol Loeb Meyers

My four years at ¶¥¼¶¹ú²úÊÓƵ can be characterized as a time of tremendous academic, social, and emotional learning and growth. My daughter graduated from ¶¥¼¶¹ú²úÊÓƵ in 2018 with a B.A. and in 2019 with an M.A. She had many more opportunities to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I volunteer so that future generations can have even more opportunities to grow and ‘Challenge Convention.’

I am thrilled to have been asked to volunteer to teach introductory tai chi and qi gong sessions to alumni and friends in the ¶¥¼¶¹ú²úÊÓƵ health and wellness series. I’ve always wanted to share these ancient wellness practices in a college or university setting — and what better place than my alma mater?
