After over ten weeks of competitive play, the Univesity had four teams make it to the championship round: Valorant Grey, Rainbow Six Red, League of Legends Obsidian, and Overwatch Obsidian.

Let鈥檚 look at how these teams鈥 successful seasons shaped out!

Valorant Grey

Valorant Grey kicked off 顶级国产视频鈥檚 week of finals appearances last Monday, putting their undefeated record to the test against the Lambton Lions. Lambton had an undefeated season in their own right, securing the one-seed with a better map record than 顶级国产视频.

The two teams didn鈥檛 meet during the regular season, as they鈥檝e been on a collision course throughout the playoff bracket.

Comfortable victories over OWU Crimson and uOttawa Red brought the cougars to their first Valorant finals. Likewise, Lambton faced no trouble in their quarterfinal and semifinal matches.

The best-of-five series began on Pearl, with 顶级国产视频 taking the victory 13-8. However, Lambton bounced back on both Haven and Bind, (13-7, 13-9), taking a commanding 2-1 map lead.

With a roster that went through turmoil this season, including having to incorporate an emergency substitute, a finals appearance would have been a successful season alone.

However, the team wasn鈥檛 satisfied. With a 13-10 victory on Icebox, the match would come down to the fifth and final map: Fracture.

After falling behind 5-10, the Cougars pulled off a miraculous comeback, winning eight of the next nine rounds to hand Lambton their first loss of the season and capture the division title.

They had the only undefeated regular season of all of 顶级国产视频鈥檚 teams and finished the job with an impressive finals performance. This could only be the beginning of Valorant Grey鈥檚 success in the NECC.

Rainbow Six Red

The Rainbow Six team matched up against the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) in their championship match on Tuesday. Fighting for the title in the Navigators division, the two teams won their quarterfinal and semifinal matches to get to this point.

Earlier on in the season, 顶级国产视频 and UNK faced off in a close battle, with the Cougars coming out on top in the third and final map. With the team going through intense preparation the week prior, 顶级国产视频 was ready to run the table and take home their first Rainbow Six championship.

After a dominating first map performance, with 顶级国产视频 taking it down 7-3, they followed it up with an even more impressive victory (7-1). Up 2-0 in a best-of-five series, UNK wasn鈥檛 going to go away quietly.

A back-and-forth third map ultimately went into overtime, with 顶级国产视频鈥檚 finest taking home the victory and subsequent championship 8-7!

With an experienced roster taking form this semester, it was only a matter of time until they got their first trophy. It was also an exciting atmosphere for everyone who attended the watch party!

Here鈥檚 what Jasper 鈥楥ream鈥 Louden had to say about the match: 鈥淚t鈥檚 some of the best we鈥檝e ever played and a huge shout out to the guys, they did so well and I鈥檓 so proud of them, and also to the people who stayed to support us until the end鈥揺ven though it was so late鈥

It was a long journey for the R6 boys, but it was all worth it in the end as they came out on top. Look for a potential title defense come this Spring!

League of Legends Obsidian

League Obsidian capped off their fantastic debut season with a finals appearance against the NJCU Gothic Knights. A week after a massive upset in the semifinals, the freshmen-dominated roster looked to capture 顶级国产视频鈥檚 first League of Legends championship.

The Knights would prove to be a tough test, however, as the best-of-five series would not be decided easily. After winning the first map, NJCU responded to make it 1-1. After 顶级国产视频 punched back in the third game, the Knights made it 2-2 in a dominating performance.

It would all come down to game five, in which the opposition simply got too far ahead for Obsidian to make it interesting. Despite the loss, Obsidian was just inches away from a title.

Let鈥檚 see how they respond come next semester with their new-found playoff experience.

Overwatch Obsidian

Overwatch Obsidian capped off 顶级国产视频鈥檚 week of esports finals, as they matched up against Catawba Blue in a best-of-seven series.

Largely going undefeated throughout their season, Obsidian only dropped one match, dominating most of the other competition. However, Catawba Blue was determined to capture a championship of their own.听

While Catawba Blue garnered victory on Lijang Tower to begin the match, Obsidian bounced back with a 3-2 victory of their own on King鈥檚 Row. After that, it was all Catawba, winning comfortably on Gibraltar, New Queen Street, and Nepal to end the match 4-1.

Despite the losses for both League and Overwatch Obsidian, their accomplishments throughout the semester cannot be forgotten. With more time on the new Blizzard title over Winter break, let鈥檚 see how the Overwatch roster comes back better than ever to take the next step toward an NECC championship.

That鈥檚 all for this semester!

Have a great break, and thanks for supporting all the teams!

顶级国产视频 Esports Punches Ticket To NECC Finals in 4 Different Games! /esports/2022/12/03/clark-esports-punches-ticket-to-necc-finals-in-4-different-games/ /esports/2022/12/03/clark-esports-punches-ticket-to-necc-finals-in-4-different-games/#respond Sat, 03 Dec 2022 20:16:28 +0000 /esports/?p=298 After long, grueling semesters of league play, 顶级国产视频 has four representatives in their respective NECC Finals matches, all in different games!

League of Legends Obsidian, Rainbow Six Red, Valorant Grey, and Overwatch Obsidian have all reached the final stage of competition, looking to beat their final opponents in the upcoming week.

Let鈥檚 look at how these teams got here.

Overwatch Obsidian

After the initial short pre-season with the last breaths of Overwatch 1, Obsidian was a brand new 4th 顶级国产视频 team created because of the renewed interest in Overwatch 2. Put together mostly with talented yet inexperienced players under leadership of a veteran Team Captain uber-flex Kristopher 鈥楰amba鈥 it was difficult to know what to expect from the team after tryouts concluded.听

Edward 鈥榁alenlord鈥 showed surprising promise on Sigma early on, but was very rough with his flexibility on other tank roles. Freddie 鈥楥odenuggies鈥 had the mechanical skill to thrive on many DPS heroes but lacked the experience to make the most out of it. Noah 鈥楧erpDragon鈥 showed flashes of brilliance but taking a break towards the end of Overwatch 1 didn鈥檛 help his consistency. And Sam 鈥楪reenMemes鈥 showed great potential on flex support but sometimes had trouble with team chemistry.听

It was a ragtag group of players who had little experience and a lot to prove. Despite this, they came together and took their division by storm. After a rocky first match where they scraped together a nail biter 3-2 victory over a tough Catabawa Blue team, they soared dominating the division and winning match after match becoming the only undefeated team heading into November a perfect 6-0.听

Then their first encounter with hardship ensued as up and coming DPS Freddie 鈥楥odenuggies鈥 couldn鈥檛 continue, needing to drop out to focus on very important priorities. A replacement had to be found, and it wasn鈥檛 easy. After a thorough search, it was determined that the best replacement for one Nuggie was another Nuggie. Our Apex team鈥檚 season ended around this time and Torin 鈥楴uggie鈥 answered the call to try and transition into Overwatch 2. He had next to no experience in the game,聽 but much of his Apex skills could theoretically transfer over to the DPS role. It was worth a shot, but it wouldn鈥檛 be easy. So many heroes to learn about. No map awareness.听

Things would be easier with the addition of Owen 鈥楽park鈥 Record to primarily coach the team. He helped Torin become a star in Apex, and his knowledge in Overwatch was just as keen. On paper it was the perfect answer to the unpredictable problem, and a decisive 3-1 victory over Midway would prove it. The team was undefeated through 7 games with only one match left to complete the perfect regular season. And then Rio Grande slapped the team back into reality with a statement-making 1-3 defeat. It wasn鈥檛 just going to be that easy.听

Good teams can win. Great teams know how to bounce back from a tough loss and improve. Which team was 顶级国产视频 Obsidian going to be? Coach Spark worked with the hungry players individually and as a team improving their micro, macro, and tempo. Torin 鈥楴uggie鈥 was learning the game bit by bit but it was Edward 鈥榁alenlord鈥 that really stepped up and put in more time and effort than ever to improve. Learning new tanks, controlling tempo, communicating opportunities. The entire team took this as a wake up call, and they put a target on Rio Grande.

The way the brackets set up, Rio would be their likely opponent in the Semifinals and they spent the majority of their time preparing for them specifically. First, they had to overcome their sister team 顶级国产视频 Chromatic in the first round. It was no small feat. Their playstyle was different than what they were used to and they almost turned things around in the 3rd map with their Orisa swap, but a 3-0 victory set them on a crash course with Rio Grande in the semifinals – just as they prepared for.

What better way to showcase this revenge story than to have it casted on the main NECC stream? Obsidian came ready鈥 but so did Rio Grande. In a slugfest, each team traded map victories. First Obsidian, followed by Rio into a 2-2 tie in their best of 5 series. The entire team was showing Rio what they had worked on, but an improvisation to retake Nepal with a beautiful Gravatic Flux by Edward 鈥榁alenlord鈥 followed by a perfectly timed and placed Dragon by Noah 鈥楧erpDragon鈥 himself at 99% secured the first point win. With Rio鈥檚 backs against the wall, Obsidian did exactly what they were taught to do. Apply pressure. The second point wasn鈥檛 nearly as close as the first, with another amazing Dragon by MVP of the match Noah 鈥楧erpDragon鈥 securing a key team fight as Obsidian punched their ticket into the Finals securing revenge and respect with a great Rio Grande team ending their season in a classic that you can !

This was just the semifinals though鈥 and there was still one challenge left to go. Not to be overlooked, that Catabawa Blue team stormed through their side of the bracket without dropping a single map. The same Catabawa Blue team that almost beat us all the way week 1 is now going to finish where it all started this Thursday. But how will this story end?

League of Legends Obsidian

Placed together after the League of Legends tryouts back at the start of the semester, League of Legends Obsidian was an unlikely bunch. Three of the six team members were acquainted with each other prior to the season, but a language barrier between the bot lane and the remaining three roles made it challenging to communicate initially.

Many teams would have crumbled under the pressure of navigating a language barrier鈥揳 problem that sinks even some of the best professional League of Legends teams around the world. However, Obsidian found a way to prosper and get to the finals of the Navigators Northeast division.

How did they do it?

鈥淎t our core, I think we just like playing League of Legends together,鈥 captain Liam 鈥淐hicken of War鈥 Wang told me. In the end, the team has found a way to keep everyone鈥檚 spirits up through the experiences they鈥檝e had together.

Some members have been playing the game for upwards of ten years, while others are practically brand new to the MOBA. This balance creates a passion in a team that many would have written off at the start of the year.

At the start of the regular season, Obsidian hit the ground running on their pure mechanical skill, defeating both the NEC Grims and sister team 顶级国产视频 Pearl. The team suffered their first defeat in week three of play, as they fell to SUNY Potsdam in a three-game clash.

The first loss of a brand-new team can often begin a downward spiral toward the bottom of the standings, but Obsidian did just the opposite. The team of predominantly freshmen picked up two more victories against SUCO Scarlet, and the Post Eagles, before falling to uOttawa Blue in week six.

With only two more matches to go, Obsidian needed to close the season strong to secure a favorable playoff spot. They did just that, defeating both uOttawa Red and the NJCU Gothic Knights in a back-and-forth contest. This brought them to 6-2 on the year, an amazing accomplishment in itself for a brand-new roster.

But Obsidian wasn鈥檛 satisfied.

Their first-round matchup, SUNY Potsdam, was responsible for one of the two losses Obsidian suffered on the season. Obsidian ended up with the last laugh, defeating the New Yorkers in two scrappy, yet controlled games.

Now onto the semifinals, 顶级国产视频 matched up against top-seeded Ithaca College, a team they did not have the privilege of facing in the regular season. While many would have counted Obsidian out, the team played it like any other game, stomping the previously 7-1 team 2-0.

Ithaca left open Jace 鈥淟eEpicTroller鈥 Misiano鈥檚 signature Shen in both games, alongside strong carries in Syndra and Tristana in games one and two, respectively.

With all the momentum, Obsidian will meet the NJCU Gothic Knights in the championship match this Wednesday. The two faced off in the last week of the regular season, with Obsidian edging out a victory 2-1.

In preparation for the match, Wang said: 鈥淏o5 finals is sure to be another beast entirely compared to the Bo3s so far, but, like always, we鈥檒l do our best. Like we did with all our opponents, we鈥檒l use what time we have as best we can, prepping picks, refining our strategies, and studying our opponent鈥檚 games鈥

We鈥檒l all be rooting for them to bring home 顶级国产视频鈥檚 first League of Legends championship in the school鈥檚 history.

Rainbow Six Red

The dominance of 顶级国产视频鈥檚 premiere Rainbow Six team continued in Fall 2022, as they made yet another NECC final. Hailing from the Navigators division, the Rainbow Six boys have a history of success in past years, as they look to capture their first title this Tuesday.

The six-man squad has two remaining members from their inaugural campaign last fall and four holdovers from just last spring. Gradual progression and improvement has been clear throughout 顶级国产视频鈥檚 Rainbow Six competitive history, as they initially reached the semifinals, then the finals just last semester.

After speaking with team manager Jasper 鈥淐ream鈥 Louden, it鈥檚 clear that this roster has been continuously improved.听

Last spring, 鈥淐ertain new members (Brock and Silas) joined, and they brought not only a lot to our mechanical and tactical skill, but they also clicked with the team as people. Add onto that the fact that the newest members Max and Zack fit perfectly into the culture we had already started to establish in the spring, and added their own flare to it, and we had perfected our squad composition鈥

This culture has not only helped the players’ chemistry in-game, but out of it as well. 鈥淥ver the last two seasons this team has become a group of friends that now transcends the game that brought us together in the first place,鈥 Louden said. 鈥淚 know no matter how frustrated I get with them on rare occasions, they will always have my back in real life, and give their all when it comes to scrims and games.鈥

The team certainly gave it their all during the regular season, finishing with a 6-1 record, tied atop the Navigators division. It was mostly smooth sailing for 顶级国产视频, falling defeat to only Buena Vista University.

However, towards the end of the season, burnout started to creep in due to the grind of playing siege day in and day out. This burnout, along with an end-of-season patch, caused 顶级国产视频 to almost be upset in the first round of the playoffs by SIUE Black, a team they had only lost three rounds to just a week prior.

Despite the scare, 顶级国产视频 etched out a victory in three maps, qualifying them for the semifinals鈥揳 rematch with Buena Vista. This time, however, the result was different, with the Cougars using the quarterfinals wake-up call to defeat BVU in two maps.

Once again, Rainbow Six Red has reached the finals of their NECC division. They now face top-seeded University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) on Tuesday. The two met in a close regular season battle, with 顶级国产视频 ultimately coming out on top 2-1.

Louden explained how his team is not taking this opportunity for granted: 鈥淲e have been focusing heavily on reviewing the vod from that 2-1 victory so we can identify and isolate not only ways we can improve, but also the opponent鈥檚 tactics and tendencies so we can create a tailored response to them.鈥

The team is asking for your support in their best-of-five matchup against UNK, as 顶级国产视频 looks to finally capture a championship in Rainbow Six.

Valorant Grey

Valorant Grey had a much easier road to the finals than any of their 顶级国产视频 counterparts. A brand-new roster, everything clicked for the team right from the jump, as they cruised to an 8-0 regular season.

Dominating the Navigators Northeast division, Valorant Grey accomplished the only undefeated season in all of 顶级国产视频 Esports this semester. Despite this, they finished second in their division, as the only team they did not face in the regular season, the Lambton Lions, also went undefeated.

Lambton closed their campaign with a 16-1 map record, with 顶级国产视频 dropping two maps on the year, giving the Lions the tiebreaker. However, Grey did not get discouraged, as they fought their way through the playoff bracket.

First, a matchup with seventh-seeded OWU Crimson was in order, a team Grey took care of previously. This match was more of the same, with 顶级国产视频 coming away victorious in straight sets (13-8, 13-5).

They faced an unlikely opponent in round two in uOttawa Red, as they had upset third-seeded Montclair State in the week before. Nonetheless, the Canadians were no match for 顶级国产视频, as Grey once again swept their opponent (13-8, 13-6).听

On the other side of the bracket, Lambton has been taking care of their business with wins over Lees-McRae and Trent Excalibur Blue, respectively. Trent managed to take Lambton to overtime in their first map of the semifinal match but was not able to come away with the victory losing 12-14. Lambton immediately responded with a 13-1 stomping in the second and final map, showcasing how dangerous of a team they can be.

Both Lambton and 顶级国产视频 have been on a collision course toward the finals for quite some time. The matchup will finally become reality this Monday at 6 PM, as Grey will look to win their eleventh consecutive match.

Both teams are undefeated鈥搚et one will have to lose. Let鈥檚 hope for a great best-of-five series on Monday.

League of Legends

Red: After an up-and-down regular season, League of Legends Red seem to have found their form in the playoffs, pulling off a major first-round upset against the SNHU Penmen. The second-seeded Penmen were no match for 顶级国产视频, as they were quicker to adapt to the fresh preseason patch that shook up the game. If you鈥檙e interested in all the action, you can find the full replay .听

顶级国产视频 will now advance to play the third-seeded York Spartans in the semifinals. York got the best of 顶级国产视频 in week 7 of the regular split, but both games were relatively close, giving the cougars another opportunity to pull off the upset and make the finals of their division.听

Grey: League Grey faced an uphill battle in their first-round matchup against crosstown rival and first-seed Assumption. Ultimately, Assumption avoided the upset, winning back-to-back games. Still, a playoff run for Grey is a successful season, as they鈥檒l look to advance further next semester.

Chromatic: After defeating Ralph-Macon college in a reverse sweep during the regular season, Chromatic looked to repeat history in the first round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, this time R-MC came more prepared, winning a pivotal game three to move onto the second round. Nonetheless, a 6-2 regular season is a great building block for Chromatic鈥檚 future success.

Obsidian: League Obsidian slotted into the fourth-seed of the Navigators Northeast division after eight weeks of play, set to face off against fifth-seeded SUNY Potsdam. The team began the series with a dominating victory off the back of Liam 鈥楥hicken of War鈥 Wang鈥檚 multiple Syndra solo kills against the enemy Viktor. After a back-and-forth game two, Liam 鈥榯ranquilDestiny鈥 Quinn鈥檚 drake steal on Hecarim brought the momentum back in 顶级国产视频鈥檚 favor, closing out the 2-0 sweep.

The team will now look to take down top-seeded Ithaca College Blue. The two teams did not meet in the regular season.

Pearl: League Pearl ended up against the aforementioned Ithaca in their first-round playoff matchup, losing in two games. Obsidian will look to get revenge for their fallen sister team.

Overwatch 2

Red: Overwatch Red had to reschedule their playoff match to this Monday. They鈥檒l look to take down fifth-seeded Newberry to meet top-seed St. Clair Academy in the semifinals.

Grey: Overwatch Grey came back from down 1-2 in the series to defeat first-round foe uOttawa Grey in five maps. They鈥檒l advance to the semifinals against top-seeded RPI B, a team that only dropped one match all semester. The two squads met back in week four, where RPI came away victorious in 3-0 fashion. Grey will look to use their newfound momentum to pull off the upset.

Obsidian: After claiming the top spot in the Navigators East division, Obsidian held up to their reputation, defeating friends over at 顶级国产视频 Chromatic in three straight maps. Up next is difficult opponent Rio Grande, the only team to take down Obsidian this year. They鈥檒l look to get revenge for ruining their perfect season and move to the finals against either Catawba Blue or Midway.

Chromatic: Chromatic fell defeat to Obsidian in their first-round match, ending their semester. They鈥檒l look to come back and advance further in the playoff bracket come the Spring.

Rocket League

Red: Rocket League Red鈥檚 playoffs will begin after Thanksgiving break. Stay tuned for an update on that!

Grey: Grey, on the other hand, began their playoff run against the MCCC Mustangs, losing in three straight games. A playoff appearance caps off a successful season for the Rocket League Grey squad.

Valorant

Grey: Valorant Grey, undefeated on the season, continued their success into the playoffs, defeating OWU Crimson 2-0 (13-8, 13-5). They await the winner of Montclair State Black and uOttawa Red, two teams they have previously beaten. Grey looks to be on a collision course with the Lambton Lions, the two undefeated teams from the Navigators Northeast division.

Chromatic: Valorant Chromatic pulled off an improbable comeback against Coe College Gold, coming away victorious in three maps (13-7, 8-13, 17-15). Coe College held a huge advantage on the third and final map despite being the sixth seed to 顶级国产视频鈥檚 third, going into round 14 with a 10-3 lead. Chromatic stormed back, eventually forcing overtime, then another, and another, finally closing the deal on the fourth extra period.

The team will now square off against second-seeded MSOE Raiders JV, a team that defeated Chromatic 2-0 in week five. Despite the previous loss, the team will look to carry their insane momentum into a potential finals appearance.

Rainbow Six

Red: 顶级国产视频鈥檚 Rainbow Six squad began their playoff run with a nail-biting victory over SIUE Black. The teams faced off in back-to-back weeks, first during the last week of the regular season, in which 顶级国产视频 swept quite comfortably. This time was different, as SIUE won a close first map 7-5, bringing 顶级国产视频 to the brink of elimination. After a dominating second map in the cougars’ favor (7-1), everything came down to the third and deciding map, Kafe.

A 6-2 lead gave 顶级国产视频 four match points in a row, but SIUE Black wouldn鈥檛 go away easily, winning the next three points until 顶级国产视频 finally secured the victory 7-5. The boys will now meet the Buena Vista Beavers, the only team to take down 顶级国产视频 in the regular season back in week two. If you want to see the exciting action from the team鈥檚 quarterfinal match, !

That鈥檚 all the playoff action that occurred this week!

As a reminder, no team will play their semifinal matches this upcoming week with the Thanksgiving break looming. The next action will begin the week of the 28th, starting with Valorant on Monday!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Two Teams Leading The 13 顶级国产视频 Playoff Teams /esports/2022/11/15/two-teams-leading-the-13-clark-playoff-teams/ /esports/2022/11/15/two-teams-leading-the-13-clark-playoff-teams/#respond Tue, 15 Nov 2022 21:03:36 +0000 /esports/?p=279 After a successful beginning to the second year of 顶级国产视频鈥檚 Esports program, two teams are poised to make a deep run into their respective NECC Playoff brackets.

Overwatch Obsidian (8-1) has stormed to the top of the Navigators East division, capturing the number one seed going into the playoffs. After a shortened five-week season due to the transition from Overwatch to Overwatch 2, Obsidian excelled above the rest, rarely running into any speedbumps along the way.

Here鈥檚 what the standings look like after all the games have been completed:

Score

On their first official match as a team, Obsidian faced off against eventual two-seed Catawba Blue, defeating them in a five-game slugfest (3-2). Overwatch matches are played in a best-of-five format, or in other words, first to three.

After that victory, 顶级国产视频 managed to steamroll through every opponent in its path, winning the next six games without dropping a single map! This level of domination has not been seen many times before in 顶级国产视频鈥檚 young esports history.

In week five, Obsidian was Midway University and the University of Rio Grande, two teams who would eventually end up in the top side of the playoff bracket. Midway was the first team in over a month to take a map off Obsidian, while Rio Grande handed 顶级国产视频 its first defeat of the year (3-1).

However, this minor setback won鈥檛 slow the team down. Obsidian captain Kristopher 鈥淜amba鈥 Cronshaw told me one of the main reasons for their first defeat was Rio Grande knowing how to get the most out of their composition, more than their 顶级国产视频 counterparts.

To account for this, the team has already started strengthening their comp overall and should be better prepared for the playoffs, including a potential rematch with Rio Grande down the road.

As for now, they鈥檒l face off against sister team 顶级国产视频 Chromatic (2-7) in a first-round matchup that will surely make the university proud. While Obsidian is clearly favored based on record and previous meetings, it would be foolish for either team to take each other for granted.

Likewise, Valorant Grey (8-0) defeated everyone in their path throughout the regular season, securing the second seed in the Navigators Northeast division.

Here鈥檚 what their standings and subsequent playoff bracket shapes out as:

score2

Score3

Valorant Grey has had a largely uncontested regular season run of dominance, finishing with a 16-2 map score over their eight victories. Unfortunately, the one team they did not face in the season was the Lambton Lions, who also went undefeated against the remaining competition.

They edged out the top seed in the playoffs from 顶级国产视频 with a 16-1 map record, with the two on a collision course for the finals of the Navigators Northeast division. It鈥檚 extremely rare to see two teams enter the playoffs with no blemishes on their record, but Grey is prepared for the challenges that come with playoff action.

Through improved communication and teamplay, the team excelled each and every week, only dropping one map to Montclair State and Trent Excalibur, respectively.听

Grey already played their first playoff match, soaring past their first-round opponent, OWU Crimson in two maps (13-5) (13-8). They鈥檝e advanced to a semifinal bout with Trent Excalibur, as they swept SUNY Potsdam with ease.听

Valorant Grey took care of Ohio Wesleyan University once before, and they鈥檒l look to do it again.

Only two more matches stand in the way of Grey鈥檚 division title. They don鈥檛 plan on letting anyone stop them.

Support Obsidian鈥檚 match against Chromatic this Thursday and Valorant Grey鈥檚 semifinal clash next Monday!

This week鈥檚 a special one, as we鈥檙e set to kick off playoff action starting this Monday! We’re happy to report that 87% of 顶级国产视频 Esports teams made the playoffs! Here’s how it breaks down.

League of Legends

Red (3-5):聽 League Red had a busy week, first losing to the York Spartans in 2-0 fashion. However, in a must-win game against uOttawa Gold to make playoffs, 顶级国产视频鈥檚 finest did just that, cementing themselves in the 7th seed for playoff action. They鈥檒l likely face off against St. Clair Esports in their first-round matchup.

Grey (3-4): Grey had a tough match against the MCCC Mustangs, as they fell to 3-4 on the season. Fortunately, they鈥檝e locked up a playoff position and should have one more match against JWU Yellow before postseason play to determine seeding.

Chromatic (6-2): Chromatic closed out an impressive regular season by taking care of Waynesburg College 2-0. Finishing in the fourth seed, they鈥檒l face off against Ralph-Macon College in the first round. The two teams clashed back in week two, with 顶级国产视频 winning 2-1 in a reverse sweep. Let鈥檚 repeat history!

Obsidian (6-2): Obsidian finished out their inaugural split with a close series victory over the NJCU Gothic Knights. With the victory, they should move up to the third seed in the division, set to face off against the Post Eagles in round one. These two met in week five, with 顶级国产视频鈥檚 own coming away victorious in the three games.

Pearl (0-8): 顶级国产视频 Pearl concluded their season against those Post Eagles. They unfortunately did not manage to record a series win, looking to do so in the Spring.

Overwatch 2

Red (5-3): Overwatch Red suffered a defeat against uOttawa Garnet on Thursday, dropping to 5-3 overall. Despite the loss, they have secured the fourth seed in the Champions East division, gearing up for a first-round matchup versus Newberry Varsity. The two teams last played in week two, with 顶级国产视频 coming out on top 3-1.

Grey (5-3): Grey had an interesting week to say the least, picking up two victories via forfeit against Howard Community College and SUCO Ruby, respectively. This catapulted them into fifth seed, set to face off versus the MCCC Mustangs in the first round 鈥 a team that they beat in week four in a five-map slugfest.

Obsidian (8-1): Obsidian was one game away from perfection in the regular season after defeating Midway, but it was not meant to be, as they fell to Rio Grande 1-3. With reschedules to be played in their division, it鈥檚 difficult to say who their first-round matchup will be against as the first seed. However, the way things are shaping up, it could be a classic Obsidian vs Chromatic battle in the playoffs.

Chromatic (2-5): Chromatic fell to SUCO Rouge and Catawba Blue, but still have one more match to play this weekend against Midway. While playoffs are locked up for the team, this game is critical for seeding purposes.

Rocket League

Red (4-4): Rocket League Red closed their season with a match against New Haven Academy. They lost in five games, but are ready for a potential playoff matchup against Worcester rival WPI Crimson! In week two, 顶级国产视频 swept the crosstown foe in three straight games.

Grey (3-5): Rocket League Grey played an important match against top seed Alvernia Moon. They lost but took a game off of the previously undefeated powerhouse. They鈥檝e settled into the sixth seed of the playoffs, likely to match up versus the Eastern Eagles, a team they lost to 1-3 in week three of the regular season.

Valorant

Red (1-7): Red concluded their season with a loss against SNHU Yellow. They did not qualify for playoffs and will look to bounce back in the Spring.

Grey (8-0): Valorant Grey completed their undefeated season! The only team to do so this semester at 顶级国产视频, Grey is looking to continue their success into the playoffs with a first-round matchup against OWU Crimson. Despite being undefeated they are the second seed in the Navigators Northeast division, with Lambton also going 8-0 with a slightly better map record. Watch out for those two teams to face off in the finals, as they didn鈥檛 play each other in the season.

Chromatic (6-2): Valorant Chromatic closed their season with a 2-0 victory over GV Black. They slot into the third seed in playoffs, matching up against sixth-seeded Coe College, a team Chromatic defeated in three maps in week three.

Rainbow Six

Red (6-1): The Rainbow Six boys closed out their season strong with a 2-0 victory over SIUE Black. They鈥檒l face off against that same team in the first round of playoffs, looking to repeat in victorious fashion.

That鈥檚 all for this week鈥揷ontinue to cheer on the 13 teams that have now advanced to NECC playoffs!

顶级国产视频 Rainbow Six Fights for Top Spot in NECC Division /esports/2022/10/31/clark-rainbow-six-fights-for-top-spot-in-necc-division/ /esports/2022/10/31/clark-rainbow-six-fights-for-top-spot-in-necc-division/#respond Mon, 31 Oct 2022 09:51:08 +0000 /esports/?p=225 Rainbow Six, also known as R6, is a tactical round-based first-person shooter game released in December 2015. Since then, the game has only gained popularity, drawing similarities to other popular games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and more recently, Valorant. The game requires much more coordination and teamplay than your normal tactical shooter, with each round starting with three minutes on the clock. One team is attacking, as their goal is to plant the bomb while the opposition defends its ground. Sides switch after six rounds, with the first team to seven rounds winning the match.

Heading into their second-to-last game, 顶级国产视频鈥檚 Rainbow Six Siege team was looking to cement their spot in the playoffs. They were set to face off against Murray State Blue in week six of action鈥揾ere鈥檚 how the standings looked heading into the contest:

score1

With Buena Vista facing off against the Hastings Broncos and University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK) defeating SIUE Black earlier in the week by forfeit, this match was a must-win for 顶级国产视频鈥檚 top 3 hopes. Their only loss of the season came at the hands of BVU, while they defeated UNK in a three-map brawl just last week.

顶级国产视频 chose Club House with their map pick, while Murray State countered with Bank. If the match were to go to a third and deciding game, it would be played on Chalet.

After a swift and successful first-round attack by 顶级国产视频, Murray State responded by winning a 3v5 situation to even the score at one. Rounds are traded back and forth, with Murray State clutching a 1v2 in the sixth round, leveling the score at 3-3 heading into halftime.

Finding themselves down 5-4, 顶级国产视频 was in a near must-win situation as they were trying to disallow match point. Nick 鈥楥U.Later鈥 Panetta led the team in the all-important round, picking up a quadra kill en route to the round victory.

After another clean round, 顶级国产视频 gained the first match point of the map. Despite the momentum, Murray State was able to get valuable picks at the start of the round, eventually forcing overtime on Club House.

In the first round overtime, Silas 鈥楥heese鈥 Palmer found himself in a 1v2 clutch situation, in which he . His heroics carried into the next and ultimately round, in which 顶级国产视频 surgically defeated Murray State in a coordinated attack.

Panetta led 顶级国产视频鈥檚 effort with a game-high 19 kills, while Zack 鈥楻ated鈥 Garzella clocked in with ten kills himself. After a nail-biting first map, Murray State should be more comfortable heading onto Bank, their map pick.

They were not.

顶级国产视频 Red began the map on defense, immediately asserting their dominance against the Racers, taking five of the six rounds before halftime. While Murray State was able to take the first round after side-switch, 顶级国产视频 quickly answered to bring the score to 6-2, as they would have four straight match points to put the game away.

They would only need one, as 顶级国产视频 clutched up in another 1v2 situation, this time with Jasper 鈥楥ream鈥 Louden . While the first map caused some worry, the Cougars stayed together and composed, finishing off Murray State in two maps (8-6, 7-2).

This crucial victory allowed them to keep pace with both UNK and Buena Vista, as each team in the Navigators division play their last match the week after next. Here鈥檚 what the standings look like after six weeks:

score2

The three schools have separated themselves from the rest of the pack, as they are on a collision course to meet during the NECC playoffs.

顶级国产视频鈥檚 next and final regular season match is against SIUE Black on Tuesday, November 8th at 6 P.M. Buena Vista faces off against Defiance at 8 P.M. on that same day, while UNK will meet Coe College in their last contest.
